Job Title: Campaign Organiser – Islington South & Finsbury and Islington North 

Responsible to: Craig O’Donnell, (London Campaign Staff RDO), Local Party Chair and Local Party Vice-Chair

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, pro-rata depending on experience (reviewed on an annual basis). 

Hours: 8 hours per week; may include evenings and weekends occasionally, especially at election time. 

Contract: Temporary part-time contractor role subject to review after 3 months 

Location: Working from home. Will need to travel around both constituencies. 

Closing Date: 3rd of November 2025 

Travel: Travel expenses will be paid for travel around the borough.

Do you have what it takes to help grow support for the Liberal Democrats in Islington’s two constituencies? We are building for success in the Local Elections in 2026. We have identified our target ward(s) and candidates and are already campaigning actively.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to help us build our local campaign team. You will be at the heart of our campaign & election strategy in these constituencies, growing our volunteer recruitment & training programme, and helping to write & artwork our leaflets & emails. 

You will work closely with members of the local Executive, our PPCs, and local volunteers.

Job Description: 

  • Please help with the recruitment process to ensure we have a motivated and well-trained volunteer network of deliverers, canvassers and clerical helpers. 

  • Assisting with recruitment and mobilisation, phone banks, and doorstep canvass sessions. 

  • Liaise with Local Party executive officers and ward teams to coordinate events and activities. 

  • Coordinate and support publicity for events and activities.

  • Produce regular artworked leaflets, direct mail letters and emails to members and voters, including liaison with printers.

  • Undertake such other duties as the team may require to contribute to effective communication, campaigning and organisation in the two constituencies, particularly around election times. 

Person specification: 

Essential: 

  • Well-organised and motivated person. 

  • Relish working in a high-paced environment. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Able to lead, mobilise and manage volunteers. 

  • Able to work independently with limited supervision, self-motivated and able to manage your own workload. 

  • Able to design (specifically artwork skills) and write compelling content and attractive campaign literature (email & print literature). 

  • Familiarity with current issues within UK politics and sympathy with the values and principles of the Liberal Democrats. 

  • Professionalism and discretion. 

  • Ability to work with Liberal Democrat staff from the London Region, English Party, other local parties and HQ as required. 

  • Able to be in Islington and travel around the area.

Desirable: 

  • Any prior experience with campaigning or recruiting, managing and motivating volunteers. 

  • Any prior experience with any desktop publishing tools, notably Affinity Publisher. 

  • Ability to learn and work with our systems – e.g. Connect, Lighthouse (voter, volunteer and member databases). 

  • Ability to work with and understand how social media can play a part in political campaigning. 

  • Appreciation of GDPR, data protection and other laws and regulations relevant to political campaigning. 

Starting date: Position Open Immediately
