Job Details
We are seeking a dedicated Caseworker to provide support and advice to constituents in Mid Sussex.
Job Overview
You will lead on the response to mass campaigns and constituents’ policy questions and you will support the Senior Caseworker with constituents & personal casework.
You will liaise with government and other organisations to resolve matters for constituents and ensure their concerns are heard.
You will co-ordinate constituency surgeries, including briefing Alison, taking notes and following up actions.
The role is full time. We may consider 4 days a week for the right candidate. You will spend most of your week in the Burgess Hill office though some hybrid
working is possible.

You can manage a large caseload, prioritising effectively, taking actions in a timely manner and keeping constituents informed.
You enjoy working in a small team and contributing to the team culture. You are flexible, particularly when it is busy, and support Alison and the team.
You thrive in a customer facing environment with experience gained through work, volunteering or an elected position.
You understand and share Alison and the Liberal Democrats’ core values and priorities.
You are an effective and empathetic communicator. You tailor the style and tone of your communication for the situation and audience.
Responsibilities
Ensure that surgeries are well planned and run to time, and follow up on actions as appropriate
Deal with large numbers of queries from the public, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of public by email, phone or face to face
Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately in accordance with the MP’s aims and objectives
Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases
Log all cases, monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken
Be a supportive team member, assisting in any other tasks that might be needed
There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel to London occasionally
Requirements
Right to work in the UK
Fluent spoken and accurate written English
Sympathetic to Liberal Democrat values and aims
Desired Skills
Previous experience of managing casework or customer service experience
Experience of CRM systems
