We're looking for a Caseworker to join our award-winning MP office team, based in Eastbourne, officially the UK’s sunniest town!
What you'll get up to will include:
- Support residents in Eastbourne with their questions and concerns, whether that’s over the phone, by email, on social media, or in person.
- Handle a wide range of casework with care and efficiency—from helping individuals navigate complex personal issues to drafting thoughtful responses on policy matters.
- Work closely with the team, Government departments, and external organisations to help resolve cases and get the best outcomes for residents.
- Keep accurate records of all cases, making sure actions are followed up and progress is tracked, and information is handled with sensitivity and confidentiality.
- Support Josh at community visits, meetings, and surgeries, and assist with any follow-up actions.
- Spot trends in enquiries and share insights with Josh and the team to help improve support for residents.
What we're after from you:
You’re an empathetic listener
You take the time to really understand the challenges residents are facing, asking the right questions to get to the heart of the issue. You may have experience supporting individuals through advice work or in a similar people-focused role.
You can multitask with ease
You’re highly organised and comfortable managing a busy caseload, all while maintaining a calm, person-centred approach. You know how to prioritise effectively and can quickly assess what’s urgent and what matters most.
You’re a problem solving pro
You’re not fazed by complex challenges and get a buzz from working with others to find solutions. You have the resilience and determination to keep going and deliver the best results for residents.
You care enough to get stuck right in
You’re invested in our mission to support the people of Eastbourne, and to help Josh to be the best MP he can be. You’re prepared to roll up your sleeves and make a positive difference in the town.
Please note that full and part-time options considered (minimum 3 days per week). Some evening and weekend working will be required.
Upon appointment you will be required to comply with the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, undertaken by the Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO). See Members’ Staff Verification Office (MSVO) page for further info. MPs generally pay staff in accordance with IPSA guidelines.
