Case Worker – for Olly Glover MP

Full Time (although there is some flexibility for the right candidate)

£25,000 – £29,000

Based near Wantage, Oxfordshire

Olly Glover MP is looking for a Caseworker to join the Didcot and Wantage constituency team.

The successful candidate will provide information and advocacy to local people, businesses and groups who require the support of their Member of Parliament.

The ideal candidate will be approachable, proactive, and have a good understanding of the local area. Experience working in a similar role, or within the public or voluntary sector would be a benefit, but not essential.

No specific qualifications are required, but we are looking for someone with excellent written English, customer service skills, IT skills and experience working in a team.

You do not have to be a Liberal Democrat party member, but being comfortable with the party’s policies, aims, and approach to serving the community is essential. 

Key responsibilities

  • Deal with a high volume of standard queries, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, social media or face to face. Ongoing communication may be required
  • Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases and write responses to constituents
  • Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately in accordance with the MP’s procedures
  • Log all cases; monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken
  • Retain records and information confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act
  • Assist surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate
  • Attend constituency meetings and visits with the MP
  • There may be a requirement for the post-holder to work outside of the normal office hours and travel for work occasionally

This role would start as soon as possible, subject to the parliamentary vetting process.
