The Liberal Democrat Campaign for Race Equality (LDCRE), working in partnership with the Diversity Manager at Party HQ, is launching a time-limited Working Group to support the Party’s ongoing commitment to racial and ethnic diversity in our membership, campaigns, and representation.

We’re looking for 10 experienced volunteers who can share their insights and practical knowledge of engaging ethnic minority communities - particularly within London - to help inform the Party’s approach.

Whether you've led successful action days, built inclusive local networks, or taken steps to make your local party more welcoming - leading to increased membership from underrepresented groups - we’d love to learn from your experience.

About the Role

This Working Group will be chaired by Janice Turner, LDCRE Vice-Chair and author of Alderdice Six Years On. The group will:

• Capture practical, on-the-ground experience from campaigners and organisers
• Co-develop a short, action-oriented guide to support local parties in engaging with racially and ethnically diverse communities
• Contribute to the design and delivery of targeted action days across London
• Provide local parties with tools and ideas to build more inclusive and welcoming environments
• Collaborate with regional campaign and development teams to embed best practices across the party

Meetings will be held online or hybrid, with an expected time commitment of approximately three 90-minute sessions over the summer.
