Welsh Chief Executive (WALES)

Salary:                    £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Hours:                      Full time

Tenure:                    Fixed term to May 2021 with the potential for renewal by mutual agreement

Location:               Wales/ Cardiff

Purpose of the Role

To achieve maximum elected representation and the implementation of Liberal Democratic policies in Wales, the Chief Executive leads the party administration and directs the human, financial and administrative resources of the Party. They will bring energy and outstanding leadership to this crucial job, whilst recognising that the relationships with the Leader (for political leadership) and the President (for operational leadership) have a key role in the direction of the party. The Chief Executive is responsible for all staff employed by the Welsh Liberal Democrats.

Federal Appeals Panel (Volunteer)

Responsible to: Chair of the Federal Appeals Panel                    

Hours: 1 hour per week (This may change depending on the workload)

Purpose of the Job

To adjudicate over the Party complaints process and matters of the Constitution

Purpose of job

The Deputy Head of Policy has a key role in leading and coordinating the development of policy for the Liberal Democrats – working with the Party’s Federal Policy Committee, working groups and Conference, Parliamentary spokespeople and other staff in LDHQ and the wider party. They will in particular lead on expanding the party’s online policy engagement.

This is a new temporary post for the 2021 Surrey County Council and Mole Valley district elections. Starting at the beginning of September, the employment will initially last 6 months. It is possible that the position will be extended, which may include working with other Surrey Local Parties.

2021 sees Mole Valley defending its control of the District Council and the Surrey County elections are an exciting opportunity for the Liberal Democrats across Surrey.

The role is to act as the organiser, helping to build and grow both local parties to enable continued success in 2021 elections and beyond.
