By-Election Candidate for Greater Manchester Mayor
Applications are now open for approved candidates wishing to be considered for selection as the Liberal Democrat candidate for the potential Greater Manchester Mayoral by-election.
This advert only applies in the event that Andy Burnham is elected on Makerfield on Thursday 18th June
The Mayor of Greater Manchester is the directly elected leader of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, responsible for strategic issues including transport, housing, skills, economic growth, policing and fire services across the city-region. The role covers the ten boroughs of Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan, representing nearly 3 million residents.

Only currently approved candidates are eligible to apply.
Police & Fire Commissioner Test: Since the GM Mayor holds PFCC responsibilities, any applicant must pass a specific assessment. You should submit the test before applications close.
Candidates must live within Greater Manchester.
